Notice is hereby given that a vacancy has arisen in the office of Parish Councillors for Broomfield Parish Council by reason of the resignation of Peter Travis.

An election to fill the vacancy will be held within sixty days of the date of this notice, provided a request in writing by ten electors of the said Broomfield Parish is received by the Chief Executive, Chelmsford City Council, Civic Centre, Duke Street, Chelmsford, CM1 1JE within fourteen days of the date of this notice (excluding weekends and bank holidays) ie. by the 4th June 2026.

If no such request is received the Parish Council will proceed to fill the vacancy by co-option

A new online survey has opened about bus use in Essex.

We know that less people are using concessionary bus passes than in the past.

These passes allow those aged 66 or over and those with certain disabilities to travel free on buses between 9am and midnight on weekdays and all day at weekends.

We want to understand what is stopping people from using the bus. We also want to know what changes would help more people to travel this way.

If you are over 66 or living with a disability, please complete the survey.

You can also choose to enter a prize draw for a chance to win one £100 voucher or one of five £10 vouchers.

The survey closes on 2 March.
