Land South East Of Roselawn Farm Public InquiryÂ
As posted on our website last month, the Public Inquiry about this refusal of planning permission for travelling showpeople’s winter quarters starts today (15th October) at the Civic Centre. Members of the public can attend if they wish.
The Parish Council strongly objected to the application (see attached). We have been through all the issues again with City Council planning officers and are pleased that they appreciate the issues for our local community. We are confident they have a strong, robust case for refusing the application, though of course it will be down to the Inspector to decide. We let you know when we hear about his decision.
The response made to the original application by the Parish Council can be viewed here  broomfield pc – response to plan app 23.01487.FUL – pdf.

Preparing for Flooding
In light of recent weather patterns and the increasing risk of flooding, the government is taking proactive measures to support residents in safeguarding their homes and communities; highlighting the potential threats and how to prepare in advance for minimising the impact of flooding.
Residents can access valuable resources to check for potential flooding within the next five days, sign up for timely flood warnings via phone, text, or email, and assess their long-term flood risk from various sources, including rivers, the sea, surface water, and groundwater. This is provided to ensure that individuals have the most relevant information based on their location.
The government encourages those to develop comprehensive flood plans—whether personal, for their communities, or for their businesses. Keeping these plans accessible, along with other vital documents and supplies, is critical in the event of a flood.
Check out your flood risk and see if you are eligible for the Property Flood Resilience (PFR) grant.
