Salt bag partnership

Broomfield Snow Clearing Scheme, supported by Essex County Council, relies totally on volunteers.  In this case, this year, the grit would need to have been spread on Sunday afternoon, on Monday the snow would need to be cleared and then the pavements re-gritted.   This will of course be several hours of work.

We think that School Lane outside the primary school is important, we did the pavements around the sheltered housing this year, bus stops are also important.  Volunteers have to undergo training and be able to store the bags of grit.

Please see https://www.essexhighways.org/roads-and-pavements/winter-travel/salt-bag-partnership for full information.

Please let us know if you wish to volunteer in future or suggest places which need gritting.    Broomfield Parish Council always welcomes Volunteers
