u3a Broomfield

Broomfield & District u3a was launched in June 2012 following a public meeting three months earlier which established a steering group to lay our firm foundations. We currently have over 150 members.

The core of our activities is the monthly speaker meeting. Apart from August, these take place on the second Wednesday afternoon of each month in Broomfield Village Hall, 158 Main Road, Broomfield CM1 7AH. They usually comprise an update on branch activities, followed by refreshments and then a guest speaker. We also have a number of special interest groups which meet at various intervals in members’ homes and a variety of other venues.

As well as local groups and learning opportunities, membership of the u3a gives members access to a range of learning/educational/interest resources online on a national basis. Our aim is to promote learning and the enjoyment of all things new to us through coming together and sharing within the ethos of the u3a’s self-learning environment, where we can all help each other.

Membership fees are currently £15.00 for the annual membership period ending 31st August 2026.
